Bahrain ICT Suppliers Trade Associations (BISTA) announces its launch of the ICT portal in Bahrain.

BISTA envisages the ICT portal of Bahrain to be internationally recognized and be one of the state of the art ICT information providing portal’s in the region.

ICT’s lack of sustainable and well planned growth, its critical information and need for industry to be the major contributors to the national economy motivated BISTA to layout the ICT concept.

The main components focused on providing accurate information that includes directory, projects, events, survey and statistics. This contributes to the development in various sectors such as education, SMEz, Government and Private. Development in each sector will resolve the concern of manpower by providing training, surveys and information. This will set policies and standards in laws, ministerial orders, and code of practice, which in turn will lay and identify the infrastructure such as cloud computing, eMarket place, broadband and ICT security.

In this event the chairman of BISTA Mr. Ubaydli Ubaydli made a special statement to the ICT portal. The major stakeholders of the ICT portal are Bahrain ICT Suppliers Trade Association (BISTA), Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Economic Development Board (EDB), eGoverment Authority, Tamkeen and ICTSC.

The Government will play an important role in the development of ICT portal. The government projects will take joint initiatives to identify the strategies and plans and publish the guidelines and policies accordingly.

Mr. Ubaydli concluded stating that definitely the government specially the Telco’s shall join hands and support the events and create a win-win situation.
